Dinosaur Hunter

Issue Number 1

In 1993, Valiant Comics revived Turok, brought him into the present and gave him a new mission. The first issue had a nice chromium inset cover, and was continued from stories seen in other titles of the Valiant line of comics. The issue sold well, 1.7 million copies. It spawned a very popular video game, and ran for 43 issues until the format changed again. The eldest born son of the Native American family Fireseed became the Turok of his generation, with the duty to protect the Earth from evil dinosaurs. The newest Turok was a 20-year-old college student called Joshua Fireseed. Although the new story line is interesting and inventive, I still prefer the old Turok born in the '50s, who's adventures are simple and have a sort of innocence.
